On the Aragno sidewalk is one of 12 monologues of Gandolin (pseudonym of Luigi Arnaldo Vassallo) played for the first time in 1909. The protagonist, after sitting at a table in a bar and while waiting for the waiter, begins a long monologue, pretending to speak to someone next to him. He makes comments about all the people who pass along the way, telling gossips with sarcasm and irony, through anecdotes and personal experiences.
