Story written in 1877, has as the protagonists the young Assanti and Ms. Dal Colle, an elegant lady, a bit flirtacious and capricious. In the beginning, between the two there is a dislike of each other, which soon turns into love feelings for Assanti. After rescuing her from bandits, Assanti expects that his feelings will be reciprocated and not disregarded, even if Ms. Dal Colle wouldn’t be satisfied with an ordinary love relationship, but would want a sublime one, otherwise ... "Let’s leave it as it is” she suggests to her young suitor.
